Soul Food : Nothing To Prove

As human beings, it is our natural tendency to be defensive when we feel attacked or to feel the need to argue with those who accuse us. However, God opened my eyes to see that this is not what He desires for His children. This really hit home with two key verses God brought me across this last week:

"Wisdom is proved right by her deeds"
~Matthew 11:19

"In repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength"
~Isaiah 30:15

Truth is, it is not up to us to try and justify and defend ourselves when people speak up at or against us or even contend with us. Instead, we need to let our actions speak louder : holding on to Faith and being rooted on God's word, we need to let God Himself fight our battles. We can't take up anyone on our own and trying to justify or prove ourselves is just a waste of our energy and time. Whatever we do, people are going to believe what they want to believe. Be still and know that He is God (Psalm 46:10) and let Him do all the proving.

Rest in God. Don't fret. And watch Him move on your behalf.
