Breakage 101 : Top 4 Herbs For Breakage

Who said there was no quick fix to breakage? Of course, tackling the root of the problem is the only way to put an end to breakage but remediating the damage done is not as difficult as it seems. True, breakage cannot be reversed but it can certainly be stopped  and you can get your strands right back on track. After experiencing breakage a few times, I've been able to compile a list of my favorite remedies to breakage.
My arsenal contains herbal treatments. Herbs are filled with - amongst others - naturally occurring minerals, nutrients and vitamins. To fight breakage, here is a list - in no particular order - of my top list of herbs  :

1. Marshmallow Root : Full of mucilage, this herb is a MAJOR detangler. Effective against breakage, it also strengthens the hair and keeps it moisturized

2. Blue Malva : A great herb for MOISTURIZING and keeps breakage away

3. Colstfoot : Contains a lot of silicic acid and amino acid cystine that make up protein keratin which help strengthen the hair. A great herb to drive breakage away

4. Horsetail : Also contains major amounts of silicic acid and amino acid cystine and also sulfur, which help reinforce your strands and make breakage history

How to use :

You can use the herbs in powder form for a deep conditioning/mask treatment or infuse them for a hair rinse.

To infuse -- bring 2 cups or so of water to boil. Add more or less 2 tablespoons of herb(s). Let infuse for at least 30 minutes before sieving. Let cool before using.
