Soul Food : He Is Able

"...being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus"

- Philippians 1 : 6

It's already the new year 2012 and I want to take a chance to greet you all happy new year once more. As we usher in this new year 2012, many do so with joy and high hopes but on the other hand, many more do it with doubts and questions at the back of their heads. Questions pertaining to projects left unfinished during the past year, unkept deadlines, broken promises, forgotten dreams and so on. This is the time where many look on to the twelve months to come like a vast sea to swim across and a huge mountain to climb and then the question comes, "how Lord?"

How? We ask God how we can make it this year, that will things really change. Will I really get that job? Will I be able to finish my degree? How will I pay for my expenses? Will I ever get married? We ask all kinds of questions and even before the year begins, we begin to doubt God's ability to manifest Himself in our lives during the New Year.

But guess what, Philippians 1 : 6 says He is able. What God has started in your life, He is more than able to end it. Whatever He has said in your life, will surely come to pass.

Child of God, stop fretting, stop worrying, stop crying, stop looking to the left or right looking at what others are doing or attaining and stop running from one person to another to hear what they have to say about your life. God is concerned about YOU and He loves YOU. He alone knows what is best for you, so whatever He has started He will finish. Whatever you might seem like you are lacking, is actually a need being fulfilled but in a way you cannot perceive.
Whatever your concerns are as we have crossed over to the New Year 2012, give to Him and to trust in Him, because He is more that able to do all that you can ever imagine and much more. Remember, He "is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us" [Ephesians 3 : 20 - 21]

May God give us the grace, as we have begun this New Year, to trust in His ability to take care of all that which concerns us and much more.
Amen!!

  1. One of the things we were told to stop doing at the cross-over service in my Church was to stop WORRYING! You've actually re-affirmed that in this post. God is good! Most of us, including me...need to always keep in that back of our mind that, we can't control everything!

Actually, there are a lot of problems and situations in life that is beyond our power. We just need to stop trying to figure out everything on our own and let God have His way. Let GO and let GOD! :)

    Thanks for sharing!

  4. I may have said this on one of your past post Funbi and forgive me if I comment on everyone of your posts but I can discern when one has really been spending time with God and digging deep into his WORD. It's encouraging to see your walk bleed through your blog and inspires me and I'm sure countless others to deepen our relationship with the LORD. Like Sweetly Broken wrote, this is surely an affirmation and confirmation from the LORD. I am so grateful for the ways he speaks to us. I think I read a Rick Warren devotional today that talked about our natural spirit wanting to be God but spiritually we can't. He didn't create us to be him. He created us in his image to take care of us and do his work through us. To Him be the Glory always and forever.
