Soul Food : The Appointed Time

"Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him"

- Genesis 21 : 2

This is our portion of scripture for this week.
We are all familiar with the story of Abraham and Sarah - How Sarah gave birth to Isaac at a very old age just like God promised.
However, the key part in this verse is the "at the very time God has promised". Each and everyone of us can say we have all had a word, even if it's just one, from God about our lives and future. In fact, the Bible is filled with many promises to us. Upon receiving God's word, we receive it with joy and gladness and embrace it, excited for it's manifestation but as the days pass by, we start to grow weary and wrestles and begin to question God's word. We start to ask God, when will you do it, and we ask ourselves, did I really hear right and, maybe God got it wrong.
But the Bible clearly says "God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?" [Numbers 23 : 19]
The truth of the matter is that God will never tell you one thing and do another. He will do what He says because His word will not return to Him empty "but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which" He sent it [Isaiah 55 : 11]. Child of God, whatever God has said He will do in your life, He will surely do. And the best thing is that He does it right on time. He is never too late or too early. Just as He said it will come to pass so shall it be. And at the very time He has promised He will surely make His words manifest in your life. Fret not but put your mind at rest and trust in Him.
He will never lie to you, deceive you or let you down.

May God help us stand on His words and believe on their realization in our lives.
