Twist Tutorials Series : Where To Start

Now after getting your style, well, you are ready to begin!!

1. To start twisting, or flat twisting, first of all, you need to get your hair prepared.
Before styling, I always stretch my hair. This makes the style neater and last longer. Please consult this post for more on stretching.

Before styling, you might also want to wash your hair to avoid product buildup or dirt from accumulating in the hair, whats more, clean hair will look more appealing than dirty hair.

2. Next, you need to pick out the products you are going to need.
Moisturizers and sealants should be on your top list, whether in liquid form or a creamy mix, it's up to you.
Now you can also use gels to twist your hair, especially if you are doing two strand twists. The gel helps hold the strands together and keep the hair from getting easily fuzzy.

3. Now it's time to pick your tools.
A rat tail comb is essential to part the hair, or any comb with a long tail.
Bands, pins and clamps are very helpful to separate the hair into sections and keep the sections from getting mixed up.

4. The last thing to do is to decide where you are going to style your hair.
Many choose the bathroom because of the mirror, others their bedroom. It really depends on what makes you comfortable. Whatever the case, I would advice picking a place where there is good lighting and where you can probably set up two mirrors.

You are now ready to start!

What do you think ladies, have I forgotten something?

Stay blessed and keep it funky!
