So...what's the deal?
As a mentioned in an old post, when I was experiencing some serious damage late last year, I did some research and read countless reviews and finally decided to try the Aphogee Two Step Treatment. Excited, I made my way to my local beauty store but unfortunately they did not have it. A few weeks later, I was able to get my hands on it and used it as soon as I could. So here's what I did : I followed the advice of a YouTuber (that I unfortunately do not know her name anymore) and used a spray bottle to apply the mix. I did not part or braid/twist my hair in any way because this particular Youtuber advised against it. I freely sprayed the Aphogee Two Step all over my hair and then left it to dry.  I practically used up the whole bottle at the time but if I were to use this again, I would use more than that bottle.

I had decided not to use any heat but it took me about three hours for it even a quarter of it to dry so I decided to use a hand dryer on low heat for two to three minutes and that did the trick. As my hair dried, it hardened and became stiff and shrunk. After this, I rinsed my hair totally and followed up with a moisturizing conditioner (not of the Aphogee mark). My hair felt significantly stronger and healthier after I was done with all the washing, no joke. I was shocked yet so glad. Breakage reduced greatly after that and that was the first major step I took that helped stop breakage at the time.

In Conclusion?
To be frank, though I was excited to use the Aphogee Two Step Treatment, I was not expecting it to work so well. When it comes to doing what it was meant to do, I don't have any complaints.

Pros and Cons
Pros:

- Does what it says

Cons:
- Inconvenient application
- Strong smell
- Long drying time

In Brief
This treatment does what is says. It is a great intense protein treatment that can be used at home, though it's meant for professional use. I totally recommend it to both naturals or sisters with permed hair that might be experiencing serious breakage due to a lack of protein.

Here are a few tips if you are thinking of using this product :

- I advice you to be sure that you are truly in need of protein before using this treatment (please consult this post for more information on how to detect protein deficiency).
- Apply the mix with a spray bottle to ensure easy application and to keep your hands from your hair
- Do not twist / braid or play with your hair after applying the product
- Be sure to let it dry 100% before washing. If the hair is not dry yet, then the treatment is not complete.
- Follow up the treatment with a moisturizing conditioner or deep conditioning treat for moisture and protection the strands
- Do not use this treatment twice in a row in between a period of less than six weeks

I am overall very satisfied with this treatment and would use it again if necessary.

  2. Love it! I tried one of these a couple of weeks ago and I was scared at how hard my hair had become, lol. But it worked wonders and I've seen a significant decrease in breakage.. WHOO HOO! I didn't do a DC afterward and my hair was feeling a bit dry but once I DC and added a bit of moisture, I realized how great of a product this is IF your hair is in need of it. Great post!

  4. Look at the ingredients in the two-step. poison solvent = diethylene glycol. Why do you think they tell you to not let it touch your skin?
